Air France Pilots On Strike

Dear Travelers,

As you may know by now, Air France pilots announced to strike this week. (15-22 September) Negotiations by Air France management are ongoing with the unions of the pilots and we hope an agreement can be reached soon.

Since last week Air France has been informing customers proactively about the expected strike and it is offering customers to change their flight tickets to avoid the strike, or to receive a flight voucher valid for one year on Air France and KLM if they would like to postpone their travel.

For Singapore routes airline has confirmed the following cancellations.

How will I know if my Air France flight operates?

Before going to the airport, Air France advises its customers to check that their flight is operating normally. The flight schedule will be updated 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. Air France advises its customers whose flight is cancelled not to go to the airport.

To stay informed you can check the status of your flight 24 hours before the scheduled departure time:

  • On the Air France app available on iPhone, Android Windows Phone and BlackBerry
  • What does Air France recommend for bookings between 15-22 September 2014 ?

    Air France recommends customers with a flight reservation between 15 and 22 September, 2014 to postpone their trip or change their ticket at no extra cost.

    How can I postpone my trip or receive a refund in case of cancellation?

    Customers can postpone their trip until between 23 and 30 September 2014, at no extra cost, subject to availability. Customers whose flight is cancelled will receive a full refund.

    You can also choose to receive a voucher valid for one year on Air France or KLM to postpone your trip beyond 30 September 2014, to change the destination or departure airport or choose not to travel.

  • What if I have out-of-pocket expenses due to the strike?

    If your Air France flight is cancelled, delayed or if your missed your connection and your new journey necessitates accommodation, according to the assistance due to travellers, Air France is going to take care of you and will refund you for out of pocket expenses upon presentation of relevant evidence :

  • Accommodation costs within the limit of EUR 150- per room per night
  • Meal allowance within the limit of EUR 25 per meal
  • Transfer cost (airport – hotel/residence – hotel) within the limit of 100KM per itinerary.
  • To arrange a refund please include original evidence / receipts and copy of your ticket.
